Thanks! Having had Beemers for the last 30 years, I have just bought what the salesman said is probably the last available red and black 40th anniversary model yesterday.

Any advice on insurance please? Obviously such a high value machine makes insurers nervous! I have had only one quote so far at £850. I am 59, full licence since 17, full no claims etc.

Thanks very much.

Cheers.

Welcome to GR and congrats. on buying your Wing--a very wise choice.

£850 quote from Carole Nash!!!!! I have my '07 1800 and car on a 6 Wheels policy with CN and from memory it's less than £450 fully comp for the two. I think I'd demand a recount!!!

I thought it was a bit steep as well!

I'll scout around and perhaps post my results for info for other new people.

Update on insurance: mostly rejections because the bike is worth more than £20,000!

Went with Bennetts at £650 in the end.

Delivery on Tuesday 15th so getting quite excited now! Short trip from home (North Shields) to Dundee and back to see the grandkids then in mid April down to Barcelona. Back from Spain at end of June then who knows.......
